Lydia Chai is a young artist who occasionally writes about the arts. She hails from Petaling Jaya, Selangor and graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Elam School of Fine Arts, Auckland . In 2002, she had her first solo exhibition at Wondermilk Art Gallery ( Malaysia ) and in the following year was a finalist in the Trust Waikato Contemporary Art Award ( New Zealand ). She exhibits in both countries and, though currently based in Auckland, is endeavouring to be active in both the Malaysian and NZ art scenes.
